Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatemeh Nouban earned her Ph.D. in Construction Management from Girne American University in January 2015. She holds an MSc. degree from the Science and Research Campus of IAU University and a BSc. degree from the Central Tehran Campus of IAU University, awarded in 2002 and 2005, respectively.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nouban is renowned for introducing two innovative analytical models/algorithms, revolutionizing the identification of optimal harbor locations and providing a rough estimate of breakwaters' materials. Her groundbreaking contributions have resulted in over 50 publications in esteemed platforms such as Science Citation Indexed (SCI/ISI) journals, Scopus Indexed Journals, peer-reviewed International Journals, and International Conferences. In recognition of her scholarly achievements, Dr. Nouban has received the Award of Publications from Near East University. She has also guided numerous Master theses within the field of Construction Management.
Drawing from a wealth of industry experience, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nouban served full-time with the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Engineering Management Division, Documents and Contracts Center, from 1983 to 1987. Additionally, she held roles as Construction Manager and Supervisor of high-rise buildings on a full-time basis from 1995 to 1997 and from 2001 to 2003. Since 2008, she has contributed as a dedicated full-time or part-time academic staff member at Girne American University and Near East University.
In September 2015, Dr. Nouban joined Near East University, where she has made significant strides in her academic career. Achieving the title of Assist. Prof. Dr. in August 2016, she further elevated her academic standing by attaining the title of Assoc. Prof. Dr. in May 2021. Currently, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nouban serves as the Head of the Department of Construction Management at the Institute of Graduate Studies of Near East University. Her leadership continues to inspire and shape the future of Construction Management education at the university.
