Dr. Ikenna Uwanuakwa is a multifaceted scholar and practitioner, holding esteemed positions as both a Civil Engineer and an Architect. He also serves as an assistant professor at Near East University in Nicosia, Northern Cyprus. His academic credentials are both diverse and impressive; he earned a Bachelor's in Architecture from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, in 2007, followed by a second Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike in 2013. Further elevating his academic stature, Dr. Uwanuakwa completed a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2015 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering in 2021, both from Near East University.

As part of his Ph.D. research, Dr. Uwanuakwa undertook a pivotal role as a Research Scholar in 2019 at the Highway Laboratory within the School of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia. This experience significantly enriched his research portfolio, which is focused on critical areas such as concrete materials and durability, asphalt materials, machine learning applications in civil engineering, and structural health monitoring of concrete structures. His scholarly contributions have been widely disseminated through various peer-reviewed journals and conferences, solidifying his reputation in the field.

In addition to his academic and research endeavours, Dr. Uwanuakwa is an active member of several RILEM Technical Committees and other prestigious professional bodies. His dual expertise in Architecture and Civil Engineering uniquely positions him as a leading authority in the realm of civil infrastructure, contributing significantly to its performance and safety.
