Hybrid workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with emphasis on three Pillars

On December 6, 2022, a hybrid workshop aimed at raising awareness of Sustainable Development and inter-faculty collaboration was held for two hours about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with emphasis on three Pillars (Economy, Environment, and Society) with the participation of more than 20 in-person participants and more than 60 participants in Google Meet and more than 70 viewers from the YouTube channel of Near East University, consisting of alumni, graduate students, lecturers, and other interested parties.

In this workshop, the environmental expert, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş (Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering), the economic expert, Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüpoğlu (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences), and the social expert, Prof. Dr. Aşkın Kiraz (Head of Environmental Education and Management Department) spoke about related SDGs. Then Farhad Bolouri (Doctoral Research Assistant; Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering) provided a summary and presented an example project related to the SDGs. In the end, the participants were asked to define their planning for research and practical activities in the field of 17 SDGs for next year, so that the Moderator placed them under the set of 17 SDGs. Then it was checked which 17 SDGs and which 3 pillars receive the most attention. Finally, the report of this workshop will be prepared and presented in the next few days using the materials provided by the experts and the items announced by the participants. This workshop was related to all the SDGs and familiarization with its entirety.
