Welcome to WPMC 2019

We are pleased to announce the 2nd International Conference on Water Problems in the Mediterranean Countries including the 2019 International Workshop on Global Change Impact on Water Resources, which will be held on 6-10 May 2019 at Near East University in Nicosia, North Cyprus. We have a strong programme planned this year, which is supported by a workshop and many esteemed invited guest speakers.

Our first International Conference on Water Problems in the Mediterranean Region was successfully held in 1997. During the first conference, we had the opportunity to discuss all aspects of water problems in the Mediterranean with contributions from the countries within this region. In addition, new scientific developments were discussed with the participation of well-known scientists, providing an insight into the latest research.

Water is still one of the most significant problems in the world and especially in the Mediterranean region. In this conference, all possible approaches and suggestions aimed at finding solutions to overcome water scarcity, better alternatives to treat wastewater and ensuring access to clean water for all communities are valuable subjects that will be discussed in order to direct authorities to take a step further towards overcoming water-related problems
for everyone around the world.

All participants will have the opportunity to connect with experts on wastewater treatment techniques, eco-hydrology, hydro informatics, emerging pollutants in water resources and water management from all over the world. They will have the chance to discuss, collect information and learn innovative approaches from leading specialists in these fields. Moreover, all water-related challenges will be discussed at this conference, as we are

expecting to welcome more than 400 participants including water experts, researchers, and decision-makers from all over the world. We are excitedly looking forward to welcoming you to beautiful North Cyprus.
